SAP stands for Standard Assessment Procedure, by using SAP software we can determine a building’s energy efficiency and emission rates.
All new dwellings are required to have both design stage and as built stage SAP assessments under Approved Document L of the UK Building Regulations (Conservation of Fuel and Power).
The assessment covers the thermal efficiency of floors, walls, roofs, windows and external doors, the type and efficiency of the heating, hot water, ventilation and lighting installations as well as the air tightness and any renewable energy sources if installed.
We will need a copy of your drawings for the building, we need to draw up a 3D model of the building so we will need plans, elevations and sections. We will also need details of your proposed specifications if you have them, or we can advise if you don’t.
Once the construction phase is complete, we can produce an EPC from the as built SAP assessment, we will require evidence for certain elements so that it can be proven that the dwelling has been built to the specification agreed at design stage. No site visit is required.
